Gene Information

General description

The neutrophil-attracting chemokines in rats are termed as cytokine-induced neutrophil chemoattractants (CINC). There are four CINC members, CINC-1, CINC-2α, CINC-2β and CINC-3. The CINC-2α and -2β members differ at the C-terminus. The members of CINC family signal through the CXCR2 receptor. The CINC members play a major role in recruitment of neutrophils in response to LPS into the rat lungs. Anti-CINC-2β antibody recognizes rat CINC-2β. It exhibits ~100% cross-reactivity with recombinant rat CINC-2α 50% cross-reactivity with mouse MIP-2, 35% cross-reactivity with mouse KC, 15% cross-reactivity with rat CINC-1, and 10% cross-reactivity with recombinant human IL-8, GROα, GROβ, and GROγ.

Specificity

The antibody recognizes recombinant rat CINC-2β. It exhibits ~100% cross-reactivity with recombinant rat CINC-2α, 50% cross-reactivity with mouse MIP-2, 35% cross-reactivity with mouse KC, 15% cross-reactivity with rat CINC-1, and 10% cross-reactivity with recombinant human IL-8, GROα, GROβ, and GROγ.

Immunogen

recombinant rat CINC-2β, expressed in E. coli.

Application

Anti-CINC-2β antibody may be used for immunoblotting at a working antibody concentration of 0.1-0.2 μg/ml may be used. For ELISA, a working antibody concentration of 0.5-1.0 μg/ml is recommended.

Physical form

Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in phosphate buffered saline.

Rat cytokine-induced neutrophil chemoattractant-1 (CINC-1), CINC-2 and CINC-3/macrophage inflammatory protein-2 (MIP-2), members of the CXC chemokine family, are potent chemotactic factors for neutrophils. In order to identify the receptor for CINCs, rat CXC chemokine receptor 2 (CXCR2) was cloned and
