purified recombinant human CD40 ligand C-terminal extracellular domain, expressed in E. coli.
Application
Anti-CD40 Ligand antibody produced in goat is suitable for flow cytometry and western blotting at a concentration of 1μg/mL.
Biochem/physiol Actions
CD40 Ligand is a protein that is primarily expressed on activated T cells and belongs to the TNF superfamily of molecules. It binds to CD40 on antigen-presenting cells (APC). The expression and primary function of the cell surface receptor CD40 and its ligand CD154 were not only restricted to B and T lymphocytes, but is also associated with pathogenic processes of chronic inflammatory diseases, such as autoimmune diseases, neurodegenerative disorders, graft-versus-host disease, cancer and atherosclerosis. Over expression of CD40 Ligand (sCD40L) were found in serum but not in plasma of patients with chronic spontaneous urticaria (CU).
Physical form
Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in phosphate buffered saline containing carbohydrates.

Until recently, the expression and primary function of the cell surface receptor CD40 and its ligand CD154 were considered restricted to B and T lymphocytes, and their interactions required for the thymus-dependent humoral response. However, current work from several groups

Elevated levels of soluble CD40 Ligand (sCD40L) were found in serum but not in plasma of patients with chronic spontaneous urticaria (CU). What is important is that sCD40L has proinflammatory properties, and its elevated plasma level may indicate increased risk
