Specifically recognizes a splice variant of γ4 (36.5 kDa) from human, mouse and rat.
Immunogen
synthetic peptide derived from the rat γ4 calcium channel subunit conjugated to KLH.
Application
Anti-Calcium Channel (γ4 Subunit) (Voltage Gated Ca2+ Channel) antibody produced in rabbit is suitable for western blotting at a concentration of 5-10μg/mL using rat brain tissue lysate.

Voltage-dependent calcium channel γ-4 subunit is a protein encoded by the CACNG4 gene in humans and the three novel Ca2+ channel γ subunit genes (CACNG3, CACNG4, and CACNG5) are mapped on chromosome 16 and 17. It is a transmembrane protein that may act as both neuronal voltage-dependent calcium channel (VDCC) γ subunits and transmembrane α-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazoleproponinc (AMPA) receptor regulatory proteins (TARPs). CACNG4 is found to be expressed in the CNS and display differential distributions among brain regions and several cell types in found in the cerebellum and hippocampus. It plays a key role in VDCC function. CACNG4 function as regulators of AMPA receptor localization and function in the brain and are collectively known as TARPs.
Stargazin (gamma2) and the closely related gamma3, and gamma4 transmembrane proteins are part of a family of proteins that may act as both neuronal voltage-dependent calcium channel (VDCC) gamma subunits and transmembrane alpha-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazoleproponinc (AMPA) receptor regulatory proteins (TARPs). Gene duplication is believed to be an important evolutionary mechanism for generating functional diversity within genomes. The accumulated products of ancient duplication events can be readily observed among the genes encoding voltage-dependent Ca(2+) ion channels. Ten paralogous genes have been

The calcium channel gamma subunits comprise an eight-member protein family that share a common topology consisting of four transmembrane domains and intracellular N- and C-termini. Although the first gamma subunit was identified as an auxiliary subunit of a voltage-dependent calcium
