Application

Crosstide has been used as a positive control in serine/threonine-protein kinase (akt) assay to test phosphorylation of serine 404 residue in lamin A [1] It has also been used as a substrate for Akt in in vitro kinase[2]

Biochem/physiol Actions

Crosstide is a serine/threonine-protein kinase (Akt) or protein kinase B β (PKBβ) substrate.[2]

We previously reported a family in which a heterozygous missense mutation in Akt2 led to a dominantly inherited syndrome of insulin-resistant diabetes and partial lipodystrophy. To determine whether genetic variation in AKT2 plays a broader role in human metabolic disease

Akt/PKB is a central activator of multiple signaling pathways coupled with a large number of stimuli. Although both localization and activity of Akt in the nuclear compartment are well-documented, most Akt substrates identified so far are located in the cytoplasm

Protein kinase B (PKB) is a member of the second messenger-dependent family of serine/threonine kinases that has been implicated in signaling pathways downstream of growth factor receptor tyrosine kinases and phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase. Here we report the characterization of the human
