Gene Information

General description

CK2 is a ubiquitously expressed serine/threonine kinase that has been implicated in various cellular functions such as cell death, cell cycle regulation, and mRNA synthesis. This protein kinase comprises of two catalytic α subunits and two dimeric β subunits that associate to form a heterotetrameric enzyme complex.CK2 is also involved in regulating viral infections . Monoclonal Anti-Casein Kinase 2α antibody is specific for casein kinase 2 α in humans, rats and mice (approx. 35 kDa). The antibody-binding epitope resides within amino acids 319-324 of human CK2α. This epitope is conserved across several species.

Immunogen

human denatured recombinant casein kinase 2α.

Application

Monoclonal Anti-Casein Kinase 2α antibody is suitable for use in immunoprecipitation and western blot assays using human fibroblasts . The product can also be used for indirect ELISA and microarray applications.

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.

Protein kinase CK2 (formerly called: casein kinase 2) is a heterotetrameric enzyme composed of two separate catalytic chains (CK2alpha) and a stable dimer of two non-catalytic subunits (CK2beta). CK2alpha is a highly conserved member of the superfamily of eukaryotic protein
