We have not found this to be suitable for PCR. This product is soluble in water (50 mg/ml), yielding a clear, colorless solution. The solubility of this product in water has also been reported at 64.7 g/100ml (25 °C). It is soluble at 5.0 g/100 mL in ethanol. It is practically insoluble in chloroform and in ether. The pH of a 5% aqueous solution of this product is 1.0
