Biochem/physiol Actions

BMPR-IA, also known as activin receptor-like kinase (ALK)-3, is a type I serine/theonine kinase which is required for the signal transduction of the TGF-β family cytokines. Human and murine bone morphogenetic protein receptor IA demonstrates 98% homology.

Analysis Note

The biological activity is measured by its ability to inhibit recombinant human BMP-4-induced alkaline phosphatase production in C2C12 cells.
