Eukaryotic translation elongation factor 1 α 1 (EEF1A1) regulates the transport of aminoacyl tRNA to the ribosome. Downreguation of eEF1A1 is known to induce cell death in tetraploids. Studies have reported that EEF1A1 functions as a target for the male contraceptive, gamendazole, in rat sertoli cells. Rabbit Anti-EEF1A1 antibody recognizes chicken, canine, pig, human, mouse, and rat EEF1A1.
Immunogen
synthetic peptide corresponding to a region of human EEF1A1 with an internal ID of P28675
Application
Rabbit Anti-EEF1A1 antibody is suitable for western blot applications at a concentration of 2.5μg/ml.
Physical form
Lyophilized from PBS buffer with 2% sucrose

Gamendazole was recently identified as an orally active antispermatogenic compound with antifertility effects. The cellular mechanism(s) through which these effects occur and the molecular target(s) of gamendazole action are currently unknown. Gamendazole was recently designed as a potent orally active

When duplicated sister chromatids are not properly compacted in mitosis, chromosomes are mis-segregated, inducing genetically unstable tetraploidy known to facilitate aneuploid malignancies. Here, we show that tetraploid cells produced by impaired chromosomal condensation are eliminated by a novel type of
