Gene Information

human ... HSPBAP1(79663)

General description

HSPBAP1 codes for a protein that binds to and inhibits the functions of the heat shock protein, hsp27. HSPBAP1 expression has been implicated in intractable epilepsy. DIRC3-HSPBAP1 fusion transcripts have been associated with familial renal cell carcinogenesis.
Rabbit Anti-HSPBAP1 antibody recognizes human HSPBAP1.

Immunogen

Synthetic peptide directed towards the C terminal region of human HSPBAP1

Application

Rabbit Anti-HSPBAP1 antibody is suitable for western blot applications at a concentration of 0.25 μg/ml and for immunohistochemistry applications at a concentration of 4-8 μg/ml.

Biochem/physiol Actions

HSPBAP1 may play a role in cellular stress response.

Sequence

Synthetic peptide located within the following region: SDGKDFVDKDGEHFGKLHCAKRQQIMSNSENAIEEQIASNTTTTPQTFIS

Physical form

Purified antibody supplied in 1x PBS buffer with 0.09% (w/v) sodium azide and 2% sucrose.

Genes, chromosomes & cancer, 38(2), 107-116 (2003-08-27)
Previously, we identified a family with renal cell cancer and a t(2;3)(q35;q21). Positional cloning of the chromosome 3 breakpoint led to the identification of a novel gene, DIRC2, that spans this breakpoint. Here we have characterized the chromosome 2 breakpoint

Heat Shock Protein BAP1 (heat shock 27-kDa-associated protein 1, HSPBAP1) inhibits the function of heat shock protein 27, which has a neuroprotective effect during experimentally induced epileptic neuropathology. In our study, fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, western blot
