Gene Information

human ... BHLHB5(27319)

General description

BHLHB5 is a basic helix-loop-helix transcription factor that is expressed in brain tissues, with its highest expression being in cerebellar cells. BHLHB5 is known to transcriptionally repress human PAX6 promoter.
Rabbit Anti-BHLHB5 antibody recognizes bovine, zebrafish, human, mouse, rat, and chicken BHLHB5.

Immunogen

Synthetic peptide directed towards the N terminal region of human BHLHB5

Application

Rabbit Anti-BHLHB5 antibody is suitable for western blotting at a concentration of 1μg/ml.

Biochem/physiol Actions

BHLHB5 is a member of family of basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) transcription factors. Members of this family have been implicated in many aspects of neural development, including cell growth, differentiation, and cell migration.

Sequence

Synthetic peptide located within the following region: LPAGAALCLKYGESASRGSVAESSGGEQSPDDDSDGRCELVLRAGVADPR

Physical form

Purified antibody supplied in 1x PBS buffer with 0.09% (w/v) sodium azide and 2% sucrose.
