Gene Information

human ... ADAMTS4(9507)

General description

ADAMTS-4 is a metalloproteinase member of the ADAM family of proteins that has disintegrin-like domains. ADAMTS-4 can be induced by LPS (lipopolysaccharide), IL-1, and retinoic acid and is known to cleave aggrecan, versican, and brevican. This metalloproteinase has been implicated in cartilage destruction, inflammation, arthritis and angiogenesis.
Rabbit Anti-ADAMTS-4, C-Terminal antibody can detect and localize human ADAMTS-4 (A Disintegrin And Metalloproteinase with ThromboSpondin-4 motif). By immunoblotting, the antibody recognizes a band of 110kDa, consistent with full-length ADAMTS-4. A minor band at 40kDa is also recognized.

Immunogen

synthetic peptide corresponding to C-terminal human ADAMTS-4.

Application

Rabbit Anti-ADAMTS-4, C-Terminal antibody can be used for western blot (1:200-1:500) assays.
