Gene Information

human ... ALX4(60529)

General description

Axl-4 is a homeodomain protein that is expressed on a variety of tissues including osteoblast precursors, dermal papilla of hair and whisker follicles, dental papilla of teeth, and mesenchymal cells. This protein functions as a transcriptional activator at epithelial-mesenchymal interfaces. Mouse Monoclonal Anti-Alx-4 antibody binds to human AXL-4.

Immunogen

recombinant full length Alx-4.

Application

Mouse Monoclonal Anti-Alx-4 antibody has been used for western blot analysis.

Physical form

Solution at approximately 1 mg/ml in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 0.08% sodium azide.

Preparation Note

Purified using protein G.

We have recently demonstrated that the retinoblastoma family of negative cell cycle regulators can form complexes with a class of developmental factors which contain paired-like (PL) homeodomains (Wiggan et al. [1998] Oncogene 16:227-236). Our screens led to the isolation of
