Application

Esterase Isoenzymes may be used to identify the monocytic element in normal and leukemic cells[1]. They may be used for the biochemical characterization of different hematopoietic cell lineages and stages of differentiation when studying leukemias and lymphomas[2]. Esterase Isoenzyme 4, product 68998, is recombinant and from porcine liver. It is expressed in E. coli.

Biochem/physiol Actions

An esterase is a hydrolase that splits esters into acids and alcohols.

Packaging

Bottomless glass bottle. Contents are inside inserted fused cone.

Unit Definition

1 U corresponds to the amount of enzyme which converts 1 μmol 4-nitrophenyl-L-acetate per minute at pH 7.5 and 30°C.
