Application

Dodecanamide, 3-oxo-N-(2-oxocyclohexyl)- (3-Oxo-N-(2-oxocyclohexyl)dodecanamide) may be useful in the development and study of quorum sensing synthetic autoinducer analogs. It inhibits the lasI and rhlI reporters, pyocyanin, elastase and biofilm.

Roger S Smith et al.
The Journal of clinical investigation, 112(10), 1460-1465 (2003-11-18)
Pseudomonas aeruginosa has two complete quorum-sensing systems. Both of these systems have been shown to be important for Pseudomonas virulence in multiple models of infection. Thus, these systems provide unique targets for novel antimicrobial drugs.

Chemistry & biology, 10(1), 81-89 (2003-02-08)
We synthesized a library of Pseudomonas aeruginosa autoinducer analogs with variation targeted to the homoserine lactone (HSL) moiety and discovered a new agonist, 3-oxo-C(12)-(2-aminocyclohexanol), capable of activating LasR as a transcription factor. We reconstructed two sets of focused libraries against

Current opinion in microbiology, 6(1), 56-60 (2003-03-05)
Quorum sensing is an important mechanism for the regulation of genes in many Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. In the opportunistic pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa, the absence of one or more components of the quorum-sensing system results in a significant reduction in

Biotechnology letters, 33(7), 1381-1387 (2011-02-24)
In Pseudomonas aeruginosa, quorum sensing (QS) regulates dozens of genes and proteins, many of which contribute to the virulence of this pathogen. QS inhibitory (QSI) compounds have been proposed as potential agents for treatment of bacterial infections. To search for

Dental caries is caused by prolonged episodes of low pH due to acid production by oral biofilms. Bacteria within such biofilms communicate via quorum sensing (QS). QS regulates several phenotypic biofilm parameters, such as biofilm formation and the production of
