General description

This kit includes the LUCY 565 protein stain and a mixture of twelve proteins (6.5-200 kDa) for use as molecular weight standards in SDS-PAGE.

application

The “LUCY 565 Molecular Weight Standard Kit” contains the fluorescent protein stain LUCY 565 and a Molecular Weight Marker, consisting of 12 proteins. The MW-Marker allows the precise size determination of proteins on electrophoresis gels, and LUCY 565 allows a highly sensitive, easy, fast and robust staining procedure on various kinds of SDS gels. LUCY 565 is suitable for neutral staining, i.e. a Western blot can be performed from a gel that has previously been stained with LUCY 565. Protein staining by LUCY 565 does not interfere with subsequent MALDI-MS.

Questions

1–4 of 4 Questions
  1. Do the LUCY stains contain heavy metal?

    1 answer
    1. No, the LUCY stains do not contain a heavy metal.

  2. What is the Department of Transportation shipping information for this product?

    1 answer
    1. Transportation information can be found in Section 14 of the product's (M)SDS.To access the shipping information for this material, use the link on the product detail page for the product.

      Helpful?

  3. Can LUCY stains be used for quantification in solution. What is the linear range?

    1 answer
    1. LUCY 506 and LUCY 569 can be used to quantify proteins in solution.  They are applicable for 2 different protein concentrations (the linear range 0-50 ug/mL and 10-100 ug/mL).  Requirements are only buffer, SDS, and the LUCY dyes. Samples can be measured immediately after mixing.

      Helpful?

  4. What are the detection limits for LUCY stains?

    1 answer
    1. LUCY 506 shows highest sensitivity, with a detection limit of about 3 ng per band. The standard procedure is a post-electrophoretic stain with omission of the fixation step.
