General description

Sodium carbonate (Soda) is a white salt. It can be synthesized by the electrolysis of molten sodium hydroxide or sodium chloride.[1]

Application

Sodium carbonate may be used for the determination of total polyphenolic index of wine products from grape by the Folin-Ciocalteu method.[2] It has been used to compose the ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) coating buffer.[3] It may be used to prepare the antibody coating buffer for use in IGF-I kinase receptor activation assay (KIRA) assay.[4]

Buffer component, may be used for the removal of peripheral membrane proteins.
