General description

This certified reference material (CRM) is produced and certified in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO Guide 34.

This proficiency testing sample is produced in accordance with ISO/IEC 17043:2010. All information regarding the use of this material can be found in the reporting packet supplied for each sample.

Preparation Note

Allow the capped sample vial to equilibrate to room temperature. This sample set contains 5 vials each containing 1g of sludge. Each sample vial is uniquely marked with a sample number. The bacteria are provided in dehydrated form for enhanced stability. They must be re-hydrated prior to performing the tests. It is important that the instructions are followed explicitly. Contact Technical Support if a deviation is required.

Sample preparation
Allow the capped sample vial to equilibrate to room temperature.
Transfer entire contents of vial to blender jar, add the required amount of dilution water.
Blend for 1 to 2 minutes at low speed.
Prepare the appropriate decimal dilutions of the homogenized slurry as quickly as possible to minimize settling.
Assume 1.0g as your sampling weight.

Other Notes

Proficiency testing samples are presented as single blind. No values for the samples are released until the testing period concludes. Values of analytes vary lot to lot.
