General description

Bromophenol blue (BroB), an arylmethane color marker dye has a molecular mass of 670 Da.[1]

Application

A tracking dye for nucleic acid or protein electrophoresis in agarose or polyacrylamide gels.

Bromophenol Blue sodium salt has been used in the buffer solution to differentiate dead and living cells.[2] It has also been used as a constituent in gel loading buffer.[3][4][5]
