General description

Fast Yellow AB (E-105) is used for the quality control in food products. It belongs to the class of water-soluble food color additives. These synthetic food colors are commonly used for the maintenance and improvement of color appearance in foods. Fast Yellow AB is one of the most recalcitrant of the azo dyes due to the arrangement of withdrawing substituents.

Application

Fast Yellow AB may be used as an analytical reference standard for the quantification of the analyte in:
  • Drinks and candies using reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography with photodiode array detection.
  • Commercial products such as sports drinks and bakery ink formulations using high-performance thin layer chromatography.

Refer to the product′s Certificate of Analysis for more information on a suitable instrument technique. Contact Technical Service for further support.

Packaging
