General description

Mirex is an organochlorine insecticide, found to be carcinogenic and moderately toxic in nature and is persistant in the environment as an organic pollutant.[1]

Application

Mirex may be used as an internal standard for the determination of organochlorine pesticides in fruits[2] and ergosterol analysis for the detection of molds in soil samples[3] using gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry.
