General description

2-Phenylpropionaldehyde, a semi-volatile organic compound, is an odor-active component generally present in food products.[1][2][3]

Application

2-Phenylpropionaldehyde has been used as an analytical standard for the quantification of the analyte in polymeric materials by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) technique.[2] It may also be used as an analytical standard for the determination of the analyte in tobacco samples[1] and fragrances[4] by GC-MS.
