General description

6-Mercaptopurine (6-MP) is a purine analog, frequently prescribed for treating childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia. It is also extensively used in the treatment of corticosteroid dependent inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) or the Crohn′s disease.[1][2]

Application

6-Mercaptopurine (6-MP) may be used as an analytical reference standard for the determination of the analyte in biological samples[3][4] by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) technique.
