Description

General description

Addition of acetylene, to mercury (II) sulphate in sulphuric acid solution, results in production of a series of products; acetylide (HgC₂), organometallic compounds (C₂H₂HgCl₂.HgCl), chlorovinylmercury, aldehydes and ketones and mercuration products of aldehydes and ketones.[1]
