General description

Hydrazine dihydrochloride can be used as a reducing agent in the conversion of carbonyls to methylene compounds and α, β-epoxyketones to allylic alcohols. It can also reduce alkenes, alkynes, and nitro groups. In addition, it is used to synthesize hydrazides and dinitrogen-containing heterocycles.
