General description

Sodium leak channel non-selective protein (NALCN) is also called Four domain-type voltage-gated ion channel alpha-1 subunit and Voltage gated channel-like protein 1 (Vgcnl1). NALCN is a voltage-independent, cation-nonselective channel which transports sodium, potassium and calcium ions. NALCN maintains the background sodium ion leak current in neurons, controls neuronal excitability and is essential for normal respiratory rhythm and neonatal survival. NALCN is activated by substance P or neurotensin, and is mainly expressed in the brain or to a lesser extent, heart and pancreas.

Specificity

This antibody recognizes the C terminal cytoplasmic domain of Nalcn.

Immunogen

Epitope: C terminal cytoplasmic domain
Recombinant protein corresponding to the C terminal cytoplasmic domain of rat Nalcn.

Application

Anti-Nalcn Antibody, clone N185/7 is a highly specific mouse monoclonal antibody & that targets Sodium leak channel non-selective protein & has been tested in western blotting.
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:50 dilution from a representative lot detected Nalcn in rat brain tissue.
