Gene Information

General description

Tissue factor pathway inhibitor (TFPI), also known as Extrinsic pathway inhibitor or EPI or Lipoprotein-associated coagulation inhibitor or LACI, and encoded by the gene name TFPI or LACI or TFPI1, is a protease inhibitor that regulates the tissue factor (TF)-dependent pathway of blood coagulation. The coagulation process initiates with the formation of a factor VIIa-TF complex, which proteolytically activates additional proteases (factors IX and X) and ultimately leads to the formation of a fibrin clot. TFPI inhibits the activated factor X and VIIa-TF proteases in an autoregulatory loop. It is glycosylated and predominantly found in the vascular endothelium and plasma in both free forms and complexed with plasma lipoproteins.

Immunogen

Epitope: C-terminus
Synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminus of human TFPI.

Application

Anti-TFPI, clone EPR7941, Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody is an antibody against TFPI for use in Western Blotting.

Quality

Evaluated by Western Blotting in HepG2, U-87 MG, Caco-2, and human placenta lysates.

Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:1,000-10,000 dilution of this antibody detected TFPI in HepG2, U-87 MG, Caco-2, and human placenta lysates.

Target description

~40 kDa observed. Uncharacterized bands may be observed in some lysate(s).

Physical form

Format: Unpurified
Rabbit monoclonal in buffer containing PBS with up to 0.1% sodium azide, 0.05% BSA, and 50% glycerol.
Unpurified

Storage and Stability

Stable for 1 year at -20°C from date of receipt.
Handling Recommendations: Upon receipt and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance.
Note: Variability in freezer temperatures below -20°C may cause glycerol containing solutions to become frozen during storage.

Other Notes

Concentration: Please refer to lot specific datasheet.
