General description

Interleukin-32 (IL-32), also known as Natural killer cells protein 4 (NK4) and Tumor necrosis factor alpha-inducing factor (TAIF), may play a role in innate and adaptive immune responses. IL-32 induces various cytokines such as TNFA/TNF-alpha, MIP-2 and IL-8, and activates typical cytokine signal pathways of NF-kappa-B and p38 MAPK. IL-32 has been shown to be induced in human peripheral lymphocyte cells after mitogen stimulation and in epithelial cells by IFN gamma, and it has been suggested to play a role in autoimmune and inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. IL-32 is different from other known cytokine families because it does not share sequence homology with them and is highly expressed in immune tissues, existing in at least four differentially spliced isoforms. IL-32 is selectively expressed in lymphocytes and expression is more prominent in immune cells than in non-immune cells. The expression of IL-32 increased after activation of T-cells by mitogens and after activation of NK cells by IL2/interleukin-2.

Specificity

This antibody recognizes two isoforms at ~14 kDa and ~22 kDa at the C-terminus of IL-32.

Immunogen

Epitope: C-terminus
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to the C-terminus of human IL-32.

Application

Anti-IL-32 Antibody is a highly specific rabbit polyclonal antibody, that targets IL-32 & has been tested in western blotting, IHC & Immunofluorescence.
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: 10 µg/mL from a representative lot detected IL-32 in human spleen tissue.

Immunofluorescence Analysis: 20 µg/mL from a representative lot detected IL-32 in human spleen cells.
