Gene Information

human ... WWOX(51741)

General description

WW domain-containing oxidoreductase (WWOX) is also called Fragile site FRA16D oxidoreductase (FOR). WWOX is a putative oxidoreductase that functions as a tumor suppressor and is involved in apoptosis. WWOX is also required for normal bone development, and inhibits Wnt signaling. WWOX is widely expressed, but is most strongly expressed in testis, prostate, and ovary as well as in cancer cell lines. Certain isoforms (Isoform 5 and isoform 6) are thought to only be expressed in tumor cell lines. WWOX is linked to several cancer types like Esophageal cancer (ESCR).

Immunogen

Epitope: N-Terminus
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to the N-Terminus of human WWOX.

Application

Anti-WWOX Antibody is a highly specific rabbit polyclonal antibody, that targets WWOX & has been tested in western blotting & IHC (Paraffin).
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:500 dilution from a representative lot detected WWOX in human prostate cancer sections and human ovary sections tissue.
