General description

WW domain-binding protein 7 (WBP-7) is also called Histone-lysine N-methyltransferase MLL4, Lysine N-methyltransferase 2B (KMT2B), Myeloid/lymphoid or mixed-lineage leukemia protein 4 and Trithorax homolog 2. WBP-7 is a histone methyltransferase that methylates ′Lys-4′ of histone H3, a specific tag for epigenetic transcriptional activation. WBP-7 is important in beta-globin locus transcription regulation and for controlling bulk H3K4 trimethylation (H3K4me3), global transcriptional silencing, oocyte survival and normal zygotic genome activation during oocyte growth and development. WBP-7 is widely expressed with the highest levels in testis. WBP-7 is also detected in brain, bone marrow, heart, muscle, kidney, placenta, spleen, thymus, prostate, ovary, intestine, colon, peripheral blood lymphocytes and pancreas and is found to often be amplified in pancreatic carcinomas.

Specificity

This antibody recognizes WBP-7 near the C-Terminus.

Immunogen

Epitope: Near C-Terminus
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to human WBP-7 near the C-Terminus.

Application

Detect WW domain-binding protein 7 using this rabbit polyclonal antibody, Anti-WBP-7 Antibody validated for use in western blotting.

Histone 3 lysine 4 (H3K4) methyltransferases MLL3 and MLL4 (MLL3/4) are required for enhancer activation during cell differentiation, though the mechanism is incompletely understood. We have attempted to address this issue by generating two mouse lines: one expressing H3.3K4M, a
