General description

Recombinant, mouse progranulin, consisting of amino acids 18-589, fused at the C-terminus to a His•Tag sequence, and expressed in NS0-derived mouse myeloma cells. Progranulin is an ubiquitously expressed, secreted glycoprotein that is involved in regulation of cell proliferation.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Significantly enhances neurite outgrowth of E18 rat embryonic cortical neurons using 4-16 µg/ml progranulin immobilized on nitrocelluose-coated microplates.

Warning

Toxicity: Standard Handling (A)

Physical form

Lyophilized from 0.2 µm filtered PBS.

Reconstitution

Following reconstitution refrigerate (4°C) for short-term storage or aliquot and freeze (-20°C) for long-term storage. Stock solutions are stable for up to 1 month at 4°C or for up to 3 months at -20°C.
Reconstitute to 250 µg/ml with sterile PBS.
