General description
Full-length, recombinant, mouse basic fibroblast growth factor expressed in E. coli. A multi-functional factor with chemotactic activity for numerous cell types. It plays a role in the proliferation of neuronal precursors and in neuronal differentiation. A potent angiogenic factor both in vivo and in vitro. Activates phospholipase D in endothelial cells. Mouse FGFII shares 95% identity with human FGFII. Useful for studies of cell activation and signaling.
Biochem/physiol Actions
ED₅₀: ≤0.5 ng/ml as determined by the dose-dependent proliferation of BALB/3T3 cells.

Toxicity: Standard Handling (A)
Reconstitution
Following reconstitution, aliquot and freeze (-20°C). Stock solutions are stable for up to 6 months at -20°C. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles of solutions.
