General description

Brilliant green (hydrogen sulfate) (C.I. 42040) for microscopy Certistain®, is a dry staining dye that is used to prepare a staining solution makes target structures in bacteriological specimen materials evaluable for diagnostic purposes. In the area of bacteriology, among others the Gram staining method, the Ziehl-Neelsen staining method, and the spore-staining method according to Rakette are used to yield a differentiated image of pathogens. This can be done either by using eosin Y as a counterstain or by modification according to Wirtz using safranine O solution. By this method, spores are always stained green and the cell elements always red.
As an IVD product and CE registered, it can be used hassle-free in diagnostics and laboratory accreditations. For more details, please see instructions for use (IFU). The IFU can be downloaded from this webpage.
