General description

This certified Snap-N-Spike® solution is suitable for use as a starting material in calibrators and controls for numerous GC/MS or LC/MS applications in forensic analysis, clinical toxicology and urine drug testing. As a major metabolite, 7-aminoclonazepam may be used to monitor use of the parent drug, clonazepam. Clonazepam, marketed as Klonopin® and Rivotril, is a long-acting benzodiazepine with anxiolytic, anticonvulsant, muscle relaxant, and hypnotic properties.

We investigated the role of NAT2 on clonazepam acetylation, using transiently expressed human NAT2 alleles. The NAT25*B and the NAT2*6A variant alleles cause a 20 and 22-fold reduction in the Vmax, respectively. We conclude that NAT2 is responsible for 7-aminoclonazepam
