General description

Acetylsalicylic Anhydride (ASN) is considered to be an immunogenic impurity of aspirin and the allergic reactions to the drug are attributed to the presence of this impurity.[1]

Application

Acetylsalicylic Anhydride (ASN) may be used as a pharmaceutical reference standard for the determination of trace amounts of analyte in aspirin samples and aspirin formulations by chromatography techniques.[1][2][3]
These Secondary Standards are qualified as Certified Reference Materials. These are suitable for use in several analytical applications including but not limited to pharma release testing, pharma method development for qualitative and quantitative analyses, food and beverage quality control testing, and other calibration requirements.
