18:1 PEG3000 PE or 1,2-dioleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine-N-[methoxy(polyethylene glycol)-3000] may be used for the preparation of giant unilamellar vesicles (GUVs).[1] It might also be used in planar lipid bilayer membranes to estimate the ion channel diameter formed by Bacillus anthracis protective antigen 63 (PA63).[2]
