General description

Azo-capsaicin (AzCAs) is a photo-switchable agonist of vanilloid receptor 1 (TRPV1). Azo-capsaicin 4 (AzCA4) is the most effective agonist for TRPV1. It is composed of a capsaicin head and an azobenzene ring having photoswitchable fatty acid tail.[1] AzCA4 exists as two isomers, which are cis- and trans- AzCA4.[2]
