General description

4ME 16:0 PA (DPhyPG/1,2-diphytanoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphate) is a diphytanoyl containing modified lipid. It is a charged diphytanoyl lipid.[1]

Application

4ME 16:0 PA (1,2-diphytanoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphate (sodium salt)) may be used:
  • as a phospholipid standard to quantify phosphatidic acid in plant sample using mass spectrometry analysis[2]
  • as a component in symmetric/asymmetric lipid bilayer for biophysical studies[3]
  • to prepare lipid bilayers[4]

Biochem/physiol Actions

4ME 16:0 PA (DPhyPG/1,2-diphytanoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphate) can be used in the preparation of liposomes.[1]
