General description

Phosphoethanolamine (PHOS)/ (PE) is a precursor to phosphatidylcholine and phosphatidylethanolamine.[1]

Biochem/physiol Actions

Phosphatidylethanolamine controls membrane fluidity in eukaryotic cells.[2] Phosphoethanolamine (PHOS) has the ability to repress tumour growth both in vitro and in vivo.[1] It possesses anticarcinogenic effects. It can also prevent the mRNA expression of cyclin D1 and VEGFR1 (vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 1).[3]
