General description

7-nitro-2-1,3-benzoxadiazol-4-yl (NBD) phosphatidylglycerol (PG) is a fluorescently labeled lipid where the NBD moiety is attached to the phosphatidylglycerol (PG) lipid. Phosphatidylglycerol (PG) is abundant in the pulmonary surfactant. It is localized to the alveoli.

Application

16:0-06:0 NBD PG is suitable for lipoteichoic acid synthase (eLtaS) enzyme assay.

Biochem/physiol Actions

7-nitro-2-1,3-benzoxadiazol-4-yl (NBD) labeled fluorescence probes efficiently contributes to study the formation membranes, micelles and reverse micelles. Phosphatidylglycerol (PG) plays a vital role in the regulation of innate immune response.
7-nitro-2-1,3-benzoxadiazol-4-yl (NBD) labeled lipids function as potential fluorophores in the study of biological and model membranes. NBD- phosphatidylglycerol (PG) is useful as a substrate in the analysis of enzymatic reactions. PG controls inflammatory mechanism against viral infections.
