General description

Phosphocholine is considered as a precursor molecule. It is formed during the breakdown of phosphatidylcholine (PC) metabolism. 18:1-06:0 NBD PC is a fluorescent lipid analog/probe.

Application

18:1-06:0 NBD PC is suitable for use:
  • as a component in preparing lipid solution for bilayer formation
  • to use as a single donor in fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) based assay
  • to prepare phospholipid-coated beads

Biochem/physiol Actions

NBD‐PC can be used to probe the existence of (Rho‐labeled) protease‐activated receptor (PAR) pepducins in the outer and inner leaflets.
