General description

Sesame oil, a widely used vegetable oil, is obtained from the seeds of sesame plant (Sesamum indicum).[1] It is generally composed of fatty acids such as linoleic, oleic, palmitic and stearic acid. Sesame oil may also contain sesamin, sesamolin, sesamol, and tocopherols.[2]
