Yes, the purpose of this PTFE hydrophobic 0.1 µm filter is to protect the pump motor from fluid contamination. The PTFE filter effectively blocks liquid droplets when its pore size is smaller than the diameter of water droplets (20-100 micrometers). This membrane will not protect the pump from aqeuous vapors.
