Application

Cesium dodecahydroxydodecaborate, a dicesium salt of the icosahedral borane anion dodecahydroxy-closo-dodecarborate(2-) (closo-Cs2B12(OH)22), is potentially used in drug delivery systems, radio-imaging reagents and hydrophobic space-filling pharmacophores.[1][2]
Used as a precursor in SN2 reactions of alkyl or benzyl halides to form derivatives such as Dodeca(2,3,4,5,6-pentafluorobenzyloxy)-hypercloso-dodecaborane.
