2-Azido-ε-caprolactone (or α-Azido-ε-caprolactone) is a functionalized biodegradable monomer. This monomer can be polymerized using ring-opening polymerization to yield an azide-functionalized polymer backbone that can either be further functionalized via click chemistry.
