Application

Stearoyl chloride can modify cellulose diacetate (CDA) by replacing residual free hydroxyl groups in synthesizing materials that are used to produce surgical masks, smocks and other industrial products to absorb dust and haze-fog.[1] It can be used in the synthesis of ultrastable coaxial cable-like superhydrophobic mesh.[2] It is also used in the synthesis of stearoyl modified chitosan as drug vehicles for paclitaxel delivery.[3]

We introduce the design of Janus-type paper sheets where one side of the paper exhibits superhydrophobic properties, whereas the other side of the sheet remains hydrophilic and therefore can take up aqueous solutions by capillary wicking. Such papers are being

Superhydrophobic surfaces have attracted great attention due to their attractive properties. Biopolymer-based low-cost and environmentally-friendly superhydrophobic coatings with easy-to-perform fabrication methods are always desirable. Herein, we report superhydrophobic surfaces using a one-step spray-coating of chitosan-based nanoparticles. The particles were easily
