Poly(acrylic acid) is a hydrophilic; water soluble polymer used in many applications; including surface modification; biotech and pharmaceuticals. The end group functionality contains a carboxylic acid (COOH) as well as the RAFT agent moiety. This Dodecyltrithiocarbonate will allow for additional polymerization to generate a diblock copolymer; or it can be hydrolyzed or functionalized.
Reversible addition–fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization is rapidly moving to the forefront in construction of drug and gene delivery vehicles.
Microparticles in drug delivery: Study on controlling chitosan microparticle size and distribution, exploring encapsulation of BSA and TPP cross-linker.
The modification of biomacromolecules, such as peptides and proteins, through the attachment of synthetic polymers has led to a new family of highly advanced biomaterials with enhanced properties.
