Application

1-Butyl-4-methylpyridinium iodide can be used:
  • To prepare host-guest inclusion complexes of α- and β-cyclodextrins in an aqueous medium.[1]
  • As a halogen source in the preparation of bismuth oxyhalide semiconductors for photocatalysis applications.[2]
  • As a catalyst in the synthesis of allyl glycidyl carbonates by cycloaddition of epoxides with CO2.[3]
