General description

1-Decyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride is a surface active ionic liquid that can be prepared by reacting 1-methylimidazole with 1-chlorodecane.[1]

Application

1-Decyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride can be used in the preparation of 1-decyl-3-methylimidazolium triflate by reacting with sodium triflate.[2]
