General description

m-Carborane-9-thiol is a carboranethiol that is used in the formation of self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) on a variety of surfaces.[1]

Application

m-Carborane-9-thiol forms a SAM to tune the work function of gold and silver for potential applications in organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs). It can also be used in the synthesis of metal organic chalcogenides (MOC).[1][2]
