General description

Arquad® 2HT-75 or di(hydrogenated tallow)dimethylammonium chloride is a cationic surfactant used as an emulsifying, foaming, and wetting agent in various chemical industries. It is also used to form complexes with anionic species with exceptionally low water solubility results in flocculation, ion exchange, and decolorization characteristics that are useful in a variety of applications including water treatment, sugar refining, and the synthesis of organoclays.

Application

Arquad® 2HT-75 can be used as a dispersing agent in the preparation of nanocomposites to reduce surface tension between polymer and the filler. It is also used to develop bio-reactive organoclays because it is less toxic to soil microorganisms than other commonly used surfactants.

Legal Information

Arquad is a registered trademark of Akzo Nobel Chemicals B.V.
